Orange County Dental Hygienists' Society "Together We Can Make A Difference"
Our upcoming 2009-2010 year
My name is Kimberly Cruz RDH and I am the 2009-2010 President of OCDHS. I wanted to take a moment of your time to share with you the vision I have for OCDHS this coming year. My goals for this year are as follows:
- MEMBERS FIRST: First and foremost, I want to help you, our members. OCDHS is starting a new referral program to help our hygienists find jobs whether it be temporary or permanent. Times are hard and I think it is this society's responsibility to step up and help our members. I also want to bring to the foreground more of our current member benefits, such as free CEUs, entertainment discounts, and networking opportunities.
- COMMUNITY: I want the community of Orange County to know who we are and know what OCDHS is about. I want OCDHS to be a part of more community programs and have a presence at more community events to promote and foster awareness of oral health and the dental hygiene profession's role in advancing it. I also want our members to make a difference in our community. Especially in these economic times opportunities arise in which our members can help not only each other but others as well.
- BE THE VOICE OF OUR MEMBERS: I want more of you involved. I want our members to lead the pathway of this society. I want to hear your ideas. I want to showcase all our members. If you have a community project that you want OCDHS behind, let your board know. If you want to learn about a certain topic, tell us and we will find a speaker to address it at our meetings. If you want to speak on a topic, we are always eager to give you a venue to showcase your knowledge. The board wants to hear from our members. We want you to value being a member of this society by being a part of it.

Our goal in Orange County Dental Hygienist's Society is to promote and support our members and students. We provide a professional and friendly atmosphere where hygienists can come together and share ideas, information, community service and attend continuing education meetings. We are proud to be members of our professional organization and encourage others to join us.
